How selling, buying, layaway and loans work here.

How do you price what I sell?

We weigh and test each piece, work out its melt value from the live spot price and purity, and pay a percentage of that (around 80% for scrap gold; coins and bars pay more). The Prices page shows today's figures per gram, pennyweight and troy ounce.

What do I need to bring?

A government photo ID (we record it, as the law requires) and the items. You must be 18 or over. Items you sell us are held for a statutory period before we can resell them.

How do pawn loans work?

You leave the item as security and take the cash. Interest is 10% per 30-day period. Pay the interest to renew, pay extra to reduce the principal, or pay it all off to get the item back. After the due date plus 10 days grace the item becomes ours.

Can I check my loan online?

Yes: "Check a ticket" with the ticket number and your last name shows the due date and today's payoff. With an account you see every receipt, layaway and loan, and can print any of them.

Do you sell bullion?

Yes - coins, bars and rounds priced at spot plus a small premium, plus jewelry and collectibles. Ask at the counter or send a quote request for what you are after.

Is there sales tax?

Investment bullion is tax-exempt here; jewelry and merchandise are taxed at the local rate.

What is layaway?

Put 20% down and we hold the item for you; pay the rest within 60 days. Cancelling costs a small fee.
